Slimlock with Xfce

I configured Xfce which uses slimlock as a display lock. I wrote this article to use slimlock with Xmonad; however, Xfce uses xlockmore by default.

What shoud I do?

I configured follows:

  • edited /etc/systemd/login.conf
  • configured PowerManager from Xfce Settings
  • created a symbolic link: /usr/local/bin/xflock4

/etc/systemd/longin.conf

I edited this file to disable HandleLidSwitch, HandlePowerKey and LidSwitchIgnoreInhibited because I wanted to manage these options via Xfce.

The setting file became like this:

PowerManager Setting

I configured Xfce (「Setting -> Power Manager -> (On AC | ON Battery)) to chose 「Suspend」 when laptop lid is closed. I also configured slimlock as the above link. I also confirmed that 「Lock screen when going for suspend/hibernate」 was on.
